KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is offering free rides for persons with disabilities (PwDs) for two days in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Saturday.

KTMB said the free rides on Saturday and Sunday were for the KTM Commuter Klang Valley Sector and KTM Commuter Northern Sector.

“The free ride initiative for the PwD is being offered a second time after it received an encouraging response when introduced last year,” KTMB said in a statement today.

“Statistics show that in 2021, a total of 37,363 PwDs used the KTM Commuter service, while as of October, statistics show an increase to 74,458 disabled passengers,” it said.

The enjoy the free rides, persons with disabilities and one accompanying passenger only need to present their official PwD card issued by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, as well as their identity card at the KTM Commuter ticket counters.
