KOTA KINABALU, Nov 24 — Having earlier stated that it would support Perikatan Nasional (PN) to form a government, the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state government is now saying it will abide by any decision made by the Agong.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said that their stance was that a federal government must be formed immediately.
“Because of that, we agree with Gabungan Parti Sarawak to support whatever the King decides and advises in the formation of a unity government for the stability of the country and wellbeing of the people.
“GRS believes that the formation of a federal government should be inclusive and involve the state governments of Sabah and Sarawak who were given the mandate by the people,” he said.
Hajiji said it was imperative that there was political stability in the country in order to ensure progress and bring about economic stability.
GPS had yesterday also changed its stance and agreed to abide by the King’s advice.
In Sabah, GRS, who forms the state government with Sabah BN, has a total of six MPs.
Sabah BN has seven MPs.
Parti Warisan has three, while Pakatan Harapan has five.
