KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 — The Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs who signed statutory declarations (SD) in support of Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin already had them revoked, Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said today.
After Muhyiddin's claim that he has the support of 115 MPs was rejected by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong yesterday, the Umno Youth chief said any decision involving the 30 BN MPs should be done as a bloc rather than individually.
“They signed another SD to revoke the support,” said Asyraf to reporters at Menara Dato’ Onn.
He explained that any final decision must be made en bloc and not individually to prevent political instability that happened after the last general elections.
He affirmed that any seats won by BN members are not personal property but the property of the coalition.
Any BN MP that leaves the party or fails to follow the party directive will have to vacate their seat as per the anti-hopping law, he said.
Besides that, he directed blame towards PN for “stealing” BN MPs, saying that the 10 BN MPs may have forgotten about the rule mentioned above.
“I am very upset that PN has continued with the same behaviour.
“What behaviour? The behaviour of stealing BN’s MPs,” he added.
He said that his coalition will pay careful attention to the terms and offers given by PN and Pakatan Harapan (PH).
But most important is the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s request for BN to be part of a unity government, he added.
Asyraf was here at the World Trade Centre tonight for a meeting for Umno’s supreme council members.
