IPOH, November 21 — Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad will be appointed as Perak Mentri Besar after Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) agreed to form the state government.

A source close to PKR told Malay Mail that the deal has been done between the two coalitions and is now waiting for consent from the Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

“The deal has been made. Saarani will be the Mentri Besar. And PH reps such as Abdul Aziz Bari from DAP, will be given the state executive councillors post. They want to play it safe,” he told Malay Mail.

Saarani, who is the Perak BN chairman, has been called for an audience with the Perak Ruler at noon today.

Earlier today, Perak DAP secretary Howard Lee was seen also seen at the Umno building together with Saarani prior to the meeting with the Sultan.

The source also said PKR reps will be gathering at the Impiana Hotel.

In the 15th General Election PH won 24 seats while BN won nine seats in the state. Both coalitions are able to form the state government with 33 seats.

The remaining 26 seats were secured by Perikatan Nasional.
