KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 — Sabah Umno chief Bung Moktar Radin said that every Umno leader has to be responsible for the loss the Umno faced in the 15th general election yesterday, as it was the result of a group "political decision”.
Commenting on various internal calls for party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to resign, the Sabah deputy chief minister added that the situation had not reached a level where had to leave his post.
"If resign, then we all have to resign, including me,” he told reporters as he was leaving the Umno headquarters where a meeting was being held.
Just minutes earlier, Umno chief Tan Sri Noh Omar had exited the meeting and announced his resignation as Selangor Umno chief giving a loss of faith in Zahid’s leadership as a reason.
Umno’s Shahril Hamdan and Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi are also among those who have publicly called for Zahid’s resignation
This is following Barisan Nasional’s stark loss at the polls yesterday, winning only 30 Parliamentary seats, compared to Perikatan Nasional’s 73 and Pakatan Harapan’s 82.’
