REMBAU, Nov 9 — Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has assured Senawang constituents to not worry about who will become the next prime minister.
Mohamad, known as Tok Mat, was taking a dig at Pakatan Harapan (PH), whom he described as constantly focusing on who the next prime minister is instead of prioritising the country and people’s interests.
"Don’t worry who will be the next prime minister.
"We have a team with experienced leaders and this team will manage everything... one will be appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to be prime minister.
"We have five former mentris besar, and many leaders who have their respective expertise," Mohamad told an audience at his ceramah in Taman Widuri Indah, Senawang here.
Further assuring the constituents, Mohamad said within Umno and Barisan Nasional, there are many candidates with economic and international affairs experience, compared to the caretaker government and Pakatan Harapan government that did not know how to manage the country.
"Malaysia lost its voice at the international level today, but back in the day, it was a referral country in Asia.
"Back then, what is said by the Malaysian prime minister is taken as advice at the Asean level, but today nobody cares about us anymore,” he said, blaming the PH and Perikatan Nasional administrations for poor governance.
In his closing remarks, Mohamad reminded constituents to make the right choice, to pick an administration that has once governed the country well referring to Barisan Nasional.
The Rembau parliamentary seat will see a five-way contest in GE15.
The candidates who will try to wrest the seat from BN are Pakatan Harapan's Jufitri Joha, Perikatan Nasional’s Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus, Gerakan Tanah Air’s Datuk Ramly Awaluddin and Parti Sosialis Malaysia Tinagaran Subramaniam.
