KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 — The campaign process for the 15th general election (GE15) entered its fifth day today with candidates actively using social media as one of the platforms to draw support from voters.

Most of the candidates show their creativity by uploading videos containing their campaign activities using platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp and TikTok.

There are those who no longer print their leaflets to promote their manifesto but use QR codes and electronic posters and share them via WhatsApp and Facebook.

Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also a candidate for the Pagoh parliamentary seat, for example, made a TikTok video to a song called Swipe, a hip hop track by Singaporean singer Alyph.

The 15-second video has received over 322,000 likes from netizens.

In her GE15 poster, which is available in four languages — Malay, English, Tamil and Mandarin, PH candidate for the Puchong parliamentary seat Yeo Bee Yin shows her biodata and political background.

BN candidate for Kuala Selangor parliamentary seat Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz is using the Facebook and TikTok platforms to upload his daily campaign videos.

The incumbent of the Tambun parliamentary seat Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu uploaded a video on Facebook showing a billboard which displays his face along with the phrase “Never Lost in Tambun” to woo voters. — Bernama
