KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 — Former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, caretaker home minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, and caretaker minister of international trade and industry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali are among Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders who will be defending their parliamentary seats in the 15th general election (GE15).
Muhyiddin will be defending Pagoh, while Hamzah and Azmin will be attempting to secure Larut and Gombak respectively — according to the announcement made during Perikatan Nasional’s GE15 candidate reveal event at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition here.
In total, PN will be contesting 169 parliamentary seats, with Bersatu taking up the biggest chunk of 74 seats, followed by PAS with 64 seats, Gerakan with 20 seats, and other PN-allied components with 11 seats.
Other big names retained at their constituencies are Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar for Bandar Tun Razak, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu at Tambun and Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin at Masjid Tanah.
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Rina Harun was moved to Sepang — a matter that was already announced by Muhyiddin yesterday.
Replacing Rina at Titiwangsa is PAS member Rosni Adam.
