KUCHING, Nov 1 — Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) president Voon Lee Shan today confirmed that he will contest the Bandar Kuching seat in the 15th general election (GE15).
He will face DAP incumbent Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen and a candidate from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
Voon also announced that PBK committee member Lue Cheng Hing will contest in Stampin while Soekarno Lanyau to contest in Kanowit.
“I have decided to contest in Bandar Kuching, instead of Stampin, after getting the feedback from the ground,” he told reporters when met this afternoon.
In the last state election, Voon stood in Batu Lintang while Lue contested for the Kota Sentosa seat.
PBK has already announced its secretary-general Priscilla Lau to contest in Lanang, Leighton Manjah to stand in Bintulu, Tomson Ango in Puncak Borneo, and Ryan Sim Min Leong in Mas Gading.
Voon said with the exception of Sim who will be using PBK logo, the others will be using Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) logo in the general election.
“This is at the request of our supporters who want us to use the PSB logo to underline our election pact.
“We will also be using the PSB manifesto in the election,” Voon said.
However, he said all PBK candidates will also come up with their own respective manifesto to highlight issues in their areas.
Voon said the handing over of the Letter of Authorisation to the candidates contesting in Stampin, Puncak Borneo and Bandar Kuching to use the PSB logo will be held tomorrow.
He said he has already handed over the Letter of Authorisation to use the PBK symbol to Sim this morning.
