MACHANG, Oct 31 — Claims that incumbent Ketereh MP Tan Sri Annuar Musa will not be contesting in the 15th general election (GE15) are just rumours and nothing more, Kelantan Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said today.

Ahmad Jazlan said he has already submitted the list of BN’s parliamentary candidates in Kelantan, including Ketereh, which will be finalised and decided by BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“My task is completed and anything beyond that I leave it to the party leadership to decide,” he said when asked to comment on claims that Annuar, who is also caretaker communications and multimedia minister, has not been selected this time around to defend Ketereh.

Speaking to reporters here after the launch of Kelantan BN’s machinery, attended by over 3,000 state coalition leaders and supporters, Ahmad Jazlan said BN has the potential of winning more than the nine parliamentary seats targeted for GE15 in Kelantan.

“I had mentioned before of our target for nine seats but we could win more than that as support from voters in this state has been very encouraging,” he said.

In GE14, BN won five of the 14 parliamentary seats in Kelantan.

The Election Commission has fixed November 19 as polling day, with nominations on November 5 while early voting will take place on November 15. — Bernama
