PETALING JAYA, Oct 29 — The Malaysia United Democratic Alliance (Muda) today announced three of their candidates it will be fielding in the 15th general elections (GE15) and teased an announcement on its president and incumbent Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman will be on Wednesday.
The youth-led party will contest more than the three seats, the party announced tonight at its headquarters in Petaling Jaya, but the seats, including one in Sabah, will be announced at a later date said its deputy chairman Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz .
"Muda is not only contesting three seats. There are several other seats we will announce later on, but something that I can say is that all these seats are ones in which gigantic battles will happen.
"We will see in GE15 that Muda will go up against ministers,” the Muda elections director said.
Danial Abdul Majeed will contest the Kepala Batas seat, Siti Rahayu Baharin, also known as Cikgu Rahayu, will contest in Tanjong Karang and Muda co-founder Lim Wei Jiet will contest in Tanjung Piai.
"These candidates represent the true spirit of Muda,” Amira Aisya said, adding that the candidates were active in the frontlines and were loud in voicing their opinions and ideas to ensure Malaysia has policies that bring the country forward.
The seats that Muda will be contesting are not in any cities and are considered "hard” seats to win as their incumbent MPs are well-known figures, she said.
She also said that Pakatan Harapan has agreed to give Muda the flexibility in using its own logo in the areas the party is contesting.
