PUTRAJAYA, Oct 13 — Bersatu is now in the final stage of listing the candidates who will represent the party in the 15th General Election (GE15), says its vice president Datuk Mohd Radzi Md Jidin.
“The list of candidates is being scrutinised at the final stage and we will choose the best candidates who can bring victory to Perikatan Nasional (PN),” said Radzi, who is also chairman of the party’s candidate selection committee, after launching the Putrajaya-Genting Highlands stage of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) here, today.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of the 14th Parliament with effect October 10 to make way for GE15 after being granted consent by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Asked if he would contest in GE15, Radzi, who is also the senior minister of education, said he was awaiting the party’s decision on the matter.
“God willing, whatever is announced by the party, I will obey, and what the party asks of me, I will do,” he said.
Radzi contested for the Ketereh parliamentary seat in GE14 but lost to Tan Sri Annuar Musa. He was later appointed as a Senator on July 17, 2018. — Bernama
