KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 — The Election Commission (EC) will hold a pre-registration of automatic voters (SPPA) check from October 1 to October 31 to allow 5.8 million prospective voters to check and verify their records.

EC secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said that during that period, Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above who have not been registered as voters can verify their details or file an objection before their automatic registration.

“If an individual finds that they do not live at the address displayed, they are urged to update their identity cards at the National Registration Department by October 31 at the latest,” he said in a statement today.

The checks can be done via two methods, namely through the MySPR SPPA application at https://mysprsppa.spr.gov.my or by scanning the QR Code of their Parliamentary constituencies at the 604 SPPA verification centres nationwide.

Among the centres are the state election headquarters or office, post office, district office, land office, district council, municipal council, multipurpose hall, rukun tetangga and penghulu’s office.

For more information, the public can contact state election offices, the EC Hotline at 03-88927018 or browse the www.spr.my.gov website. — Bernama
