PUTRAJAYA, May 29 — The results of the 14th general election (GE14) were gazetted yesterday, according to the Election Commission.
In a statement here today, the EC said it was in accordance with Regulation 27 of the Elections (Conduct of Elections) Regulations 1981, namely the publication of results and statement of the polls in the Gazette.
It said anyone dissatisfied with the GE14 results could file a petition within 21 days from the date the results were published in the Gazette, in accordance with the provisions of Section 38 of the Election Offences Act 1954 (Act 5).
“At the same time, the EC would like to remind all candidates contesting in GE14 or their election agents to submit their statement of election expenditure to the state election directors within 31 days from the date of the GE14 results were gazetted,” it said.
The EC said this was in accordance with Section 23 (1) of the Election Offences Act 1954. — Bernama
