PUTRAJAYA, May 23 — Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today chaired the first cabinet meeting in Perdana Putra here.
The meeting, which began at 9.25am, was attended by all 12 ministers who were sworn in on Monday.
Before the meeting started, Dr Mahathir joined a photo session with the cabinet ministers.
Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa and Cabinet deputy secretary-general Tan Sri Mazidah Abdul Majid.
This is the first cabinet meeting after Pakatan Harapan (PH) led by Dr Mahathir won the 14th General Election (GE14) on May 9.
Dr Mahathir, 92, was sworn in as Malaysia’s seventh prime minister after leading the Pakatan Harapan coalition to a stunning GE14 victory, thus becoming the oldest prime minister in the world.
He was the fourth prime minister from 1981 to 2003. He chaired his last cabinet meeting on October 30 before retiring. — Bernama
