KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 — Media Prima Bhd announced that its group chairman Tan Sri Ismee Ismail has stepped down from the post effective today.
In a statement, the group said Datuk Mohd Nasir Ahmad, a senior independent non-executive director, has been appointed interim chairman.
“In accepting Tan Sri Ismee’s request for resignation, the Board expressed its deepest appreciation and gratitude for his leadership and contributions to Media Prima since he joined on 1 June 2017.
“He also served as Chairman of the Group’s Risk Management Committee,” it said.
Just last week, Media Prima announced that Datuk Seri Mohd Ashraf Abdullah would end his tenure as group managing editor of news and current affairs yesterday.
The shares of Media Prima, which is linked to Barisan Nasional, had taken a tumble following the coalition’s defeat at the recent polls.
