KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 — Traffic flow on several major highways are reported to be slow-moving this evening as more city dwellers are leaving the city to return to their respective hometowns for Aidilfitri.

PLUS Malaysia Berhad spokesman said slow-moving traffic were recorded in several places namely from Juru toll plaza to Prai, from Gua Tempurung to Gopeng and Menora Tunnel to Cangkat Jering due to the rise in traffic volume.

“Traffic is also slow-moving from Ayer Keroh to Jasin due to a broken down lorry at Km188, causing congestion of up to seven kilometres,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman said traffic flow was reported to be slow from Gombak to Genting Sempah and from Bukit Tinggi to Lentang.

“The traffic is moving slowly since this evening following the increase in the number of vehicles travelling to the East Coast,” he said.
