PUTRAJAYA, Sept 10 — The whereabouts of Malaysian-born neurosurgeon Suresh Nair, who has been deported from Australia after serving time for manslaughter and supplying cocaine, remain unknown.

The disgraced doctor, who has lived in Australia for almost 30 years, was reported to have been deported on August 26 following his release on parole on July 31 after serving a four-year jail sentence.

Suresh was jailed in 2011 for the murder of a 22-year-old prostitute, Domingues Zaupa, who in 2009 overdosed on cocaine during an orgy at Suresh’s apartment in Sydney, and he pleaded guilty of supplying cocaine which killed 23-year-old Victoria McIntyre, also at his apartment.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he would ask the inspector-general of police to release information of  Suresh’s whereabouts.

“Threats by militant activities in this country has always been monitored by the government with the help of the police besides sharing of investigation intelligence with other Asean national safety agencies,” he said.
