KUCHING, Oct 28 — A helicopter rushing two infants on a mercy flight from Sibu to the Kuching General Hospital here was forced to make an emergency landing apparently due to a technical problem.

Kuching Police chief ACP Roslan Bek Ahmad said the helicopter, carrying five people — the pilot, the two infants, a doctor and a nurse — made the emergency landing at the Muara Tebas jetty near Sebuyau.

“At 1pm, the police control centre received information from the control tower that a helicopter had made an emergency landing near the Muara Tebas jetty.

“The police rushed to the location. The helicopter had landed across the river and the police could not get there.

“However, another helicopter arrived and flew the infants, doctor and nurse to the Kuching General Hospital,” he said when contacted by Bernama. — Bernama
