TEMERLOH, July 30 — A man dubbed Bentong’s Rambo, who currently is undergoing a 133-year jail sentence and 50 lashes of the cane for rape, unnatural sex and attempt to kill a policeman, was brought to the Temerloh High Court here today on charges of murder and raping a teenage girl in 2009.

Rabidin Satir, 42, was charged with murdering Annie Kok Yin Cheng, 17, between 11.30pm on March 7, 2009 and 1.50pm on March 8, 2009 at Kampung Ketari Bentong, Bentong.

Rabidin, from Kampung Libang Ulu, Tambunan, Sabah, was charged under section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the death sentence by hanging upon conviction.

The accused was also charged with raping the victim to the point of causing death at the same place and time, an offence under section 376(4) which carries the death sentence or jail of up to 30 years and caning.

Rabidin pleaded not guilty to both charges read to him in Dusun by the court translator in front of Justice Datuk Azman Abdullah.

Azman fixed August 26 for re-mention of the case.

Rabidin was represented by counsel Richard Bong Chong Fook while DPP Siti Hajar Mustaffa appeared for the prosecution.

On February 5, the unemployed Rabidin was sentenced to 115 years’ jail and 50 lashes of the cane after pleading guilty in the Raub Sessions Court to four counts of rape and one count of unnatural sex on four female victims aged between eight and 17.

On March 21, the Raub Sessions Court sentenced him to 18 years’ jail after he pleaded guilty to attacking and injuring Constable Mohd Suhaimi Md Razali, 24, with a parang at a house in Taman Shahbandar Husin, Bentong at about 6pm on November 14, 2012. — Bernama
