KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 — Fashion retailer Padini Holdings has come under fire after posting a video that social media users criticised as body shaming.
The now-deleted video included a caption suggesting that a customer should “go on a diet” rather than blame Padini’s clothing sizes.
The post quickly went viral, prompting public backlash and calls for accountability.
Padini later issued a formal apology, saying it regretted the incident and had removed the video from all its channels.
“We are deeply sorry for the hurt or disappointment this has caused. We recognise the importance of listening to our community and learning from this experience,” the firm said in the apology.
Padini said its management team is reviewing internal content processes to prevent future missteps.
It then reiterated its commitment to respect, inclusion, and maintaining public trust in its brand.
