KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 -- Malaysia’s first astronaut Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha has welcomed his seventh child, a boy, with wife Datin Dr Halina Mohd Yunos.
The 50-year-old shared the good news with his social media followers yesterday.
In the post, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar said the baby, weighing 2.98 kilograms, was delivered via Caesarean.
Thanking everyone for their prayers, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar said the baby and the mother were doing well.
In his latest post today, July 13, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar said the family could not decide on a name for the baby.
He shared they had initially chosen a name but his children wanted other names.
“Noah wanted Ibrahim, Tasha wanted Isaac, Adam nak Adam Junior, Eusoff and Emelia fine with any. Only Bella agreeing with the name,” he said, adding that they would call the baby little Sheikh for the time being.
The couple announced their seventh child via Dr Sheikh Muszaphar’s Instagram last December.
They tied the knot on October 10, 2010 and have children between the ages of two and 11 years including two pairs of twins.
Dr Sheikh Muszaphar was the first Malaysian to blast off into space under the Angkasawan programme in 2007.
