KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 — For an HDB flat owner in Singapore, having a priest to bless the new home is too cliche.

An owner went the extra mile and had a cow in tow.

A clip of the cow being led to the flat had since gone viral on social media after it was shared recently.

While there was no mention of where the flat was located nor the owner's identity, the bovine was seen in a video posted on Reddit being led by three men into the unit.

Before entering the flat, the cow is seen taking a quick bite from a potted plant outside the unit.

Reddit user with the handle creamytomyum shared that it was a house warming ritual.

“In the olden days it was believed that bringing cows into the (new) house and feeding it brings prosperity,” the user wrote, correcting the misconception that occupants of the house would drink the cow's urine.

The user also shared that upon arriving at a house and if the cow shows resistance in entering, it is saying there is negative energy in the house.
