KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 — Devotees who will be making their annual pilgrimage to the Batu Caves temple in Gombak for Thaipusam will be served a cup of Boh tea over the weekend.

The homegrown tea manufacturer said in a statement that 100,000 cups of tea will be served to the festival-goers.

Boh Plantations chief executive officer Jason Foo said they are pleased to be part of this year’s Thaipusam celebration and contribute to the cultural festival.

“It’s meaningful for us to play a part in contributing to cultural awareness and appreciation for this important Indian festival while serving the beverage needs of the community present.

“A cup of Boh tea will be a refreshing welcome for many devotees carrying kavadis and milk pots as well as the huge crowd expected at the event.”

The tea producer also aims to set a record by the Malaysia Book of Records for serving the highest number of tea cups at Thaipusam.

In keeping with Boh’s commitment to the environment, the tea will be served in recyclable and food-grade paper cups.
