The teenager, who has been publicly identified as Zoe, then posted an emotional video explaining her family’s financial difficulties and that how grateful she was to receive such a gift from her hard-working father.

“Money is the topic that makes me most uncomfortable to talk about because growing up I did not have a lot.

“We couldn’t buy new things as simple as bread.”

Zoe recalled that when she and her family first moved to Singapore, they had a poor financial situation and couldn’t afford to buy her many things.

“Every time we passed by a store, my parents would just say next time.

“But next time would never come.”

She then told the haters that an S$80 (RM263) bag may not be a luxury, but it is considered a lot to her and her family.

“I’m so grateful that my dad was able to get me one.”

Following the revelation, many TikTok users stormed Zoe’s post with positive comments and even tagged Charles & Keith's official account to seek the brand’s attention on the matter.

“Charles & Keith do something,” commented a TikTok user.

A spokesperson from Charles & Keith has confirmed to Marketing-Interactive that the company is aware of the matter and has managed to contact the teenager.

According to the report, Zoe and her father have been invited to have lunch with Charles & Keith founders followed by a tour of the brand’s headquarters.

In a follow-up video, Zoe thanked everyone for their positive comments and reminded her followers that everyone’s life experiences and financial circumstances can be different from others.

“Remember that what’s cheap for you may be everything to another.”
