LOS ANGELES, April 18 — Actress Kate Walsh is jumping back into the beauty game, with the relaunch of her signature “Boyfriend” scent.
The Grey's Anatomy star is relaunching the fragrance, which she first released in 2010, in limited quantities next month, she has announced. She took the fragrance off the market three years later, once a follow-up scent dubbed “Billionaire Boyfriend” had also been created.
“Boyfriend has always been about independence and empowerment,” Walsh told WWD. “I created it because I didn't want to feel like I had to have a man to feel cozy or sexy.”
She also clarified that the relaunch, which is happening with the help of Digital Media Management, could evolve into the creation of further fragrances. “Our plan is to bring [Boyfriend] back and continue to test and develop more products with the winning scent,” she said.
According to the official Boyfriend Perfume Instagram account, the company has been working on perfecting the original formula for the past year.
The relaunch of “Boyfriend” comes at an exciting moment for the celebrity fragrance industry, with fellow stars such as Sofia Vergara, Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande and Diana Ross just some of the names currently enjoying success within the perfume business.
