KUALA LUMPUR, April 11 — After opening Malaysia’s first Five Guys branch in Genting Highlands last year, a second outlet is now officially opened in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur today. The Pavilion store retains its policy of serving 100 per cent halal-certified beef on its menu —  will you be visiting?

“We are extremely excited to be opening our first Five Guys in Kuala Lumpur and we couldn’t ask for a better location and partner than Pavilion. Our first store in Genting has been met with resounding success and we expect Five Guys at Pavilion to be just as successful. As we continue to grow the brand across Malaysia we look forward to welcoming more and more fans to the best burger in the world!” says Zouk Group’s CEO Andrew Li.

We weren’t exacly given any photos of the newly opened branch’s store front — we might have to go there ourselves. But I could, however, find a few photos as posted on the Five Guys Malaysia’s Instagram page. They haven’t posted any official Pavilion-based posts yet, but they have reposted a few Instagram Stories from visitors — including Zouk Group’s CEO Andrew Li‘s Story of what the store’s front looks like, which you can see above.

The store is about 2,570 square feet, and “comfortably houses up to a total of 66 patrons”. I expect you’d probably have to wait in line for quite a bit at least for the first few days or weeks after its launch.

The Five Guys in Kuala Lumpur, is located at Lot C3.06.01, Level 3, Connection, in Pavilion Mall. Pavilion’s Connection is described as a “trendy hub” with an “al-fresco ambience”. They’re open from 11am to 10pm daily.

Five Guys, a US-based burger franchise, serves cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and milkshakes — and they have a massive cult following in their home country. They’re known for not just customisable food items, but also massive portions. According to a few people who have already tried Five Guys in Genting, they said that a small burger is more than enough, and a small fries is enough to share between two people.

We don’t know the official prices of the meals at Five Guys, yet. But for the prices in the Genting Highlands outlet, a burger is priced at a whopping RM35, a cheeseburger is priced at RM40, a large fry costs RM30, and a milkshake is priced at RM25. The prices might (hopefully!) be slightly less down here in KL. But do let us know if you’ve tried it in Pavilion, or if you’d like us to take a visit. — SoyaCincau
