SEOUL, Nov 28 — Seoul Subway Line 2 hit the brakes — literally — for over 20 minutes on Monday morning after a train conductor made a pit stop of the most urgent kind.
According to The Korea Herald, the drama unfolded at 8:11am when the conductor, who was driving a train on the outer circle of the bustling line, dashed off to a station loo.
He reportedly clocked a solid four minutes and 16 seconds for the round trip to the restroom on another floor, while an engineer watched the train.
This unscheduled toilet timeout threw off the entire morning groove, with a domino effect delaying 125 trains by up to 20 minutes.
Despite the chaos, public transit operator Seoul Metro claimed passengers might not have noticed much disruption, as trains still followed their usual intervals.
The Korea Herald reported that conductors on Line 2 often endure two to three hours of non-stop driving with no breaks — relying on portable loos in a pinch.
But as this incident proves, sometimes, nature calls, and you just have to answer.
