Xiaomi 13T

The upcoming Xiaomi 13T series replaces last year’s Xiaomi 12T and these are essentially Xiaomi’s supposedly more affordable flagship offering. This year, it gets Leica co-engineered cameras and supposedly IP68-rated dust and water resistance, which are the first for a Xiaomi "T-Series”.

From the pictures, the new devices appear to come in either a glass back or a "vegan-leather-like” texture. There’s no fancy or radical design as the Xiaomi 13T series get flat edges for both devices.

In terms of specs, it is purported that both Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro will get a 6.67″ 144Hz 2712×1220 Amoled screen that boasts a peak brightness of 2600 nits. Under the hood, the Xiaomi 13T is said to run on a Dimensity 8200-Ultra chip that’s paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Looking at the camera bump for both Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro, it appears both will get a similar triple-camera setup. The devices are expected to come with a 50MP Sony IMX707 main sensor accompanied by a 50MP telephoto camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

Xiaomi 13T Pro

The Xiaomi 13T Pro this time looks pretty much identical to the 13T as it shares a similar flat 6.67″ 144Hz Amoled display and triple-camera setup. The main difference is the processor as the Pro model is expected to run on a higher-end Dimensity 9200+ chip. The Pro model is expected to ship with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for the highest variant option.

The rest of the hardware looks pretty much identical to the non-Pro model. Both Xiaomi 13T series devices are expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery like last year’s 12T series. The Pro model is said to come with 120W fast wired charging while the standard model would have a lower but still fast 67W charging capability. For greater peace of mind, Xiaomi is pledging to offer 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security patches starting with the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro.

Will the Xiaomi 13T Pro be priced under RM3,000 in Malaysia? We expect Xiaomi Malaysia to offer pre-orders shortly after the global Xiaomi 13T event that’s happening in Germany. — SoyaCincau
