Paris 2024 medal tally (Aug 5): Malaysia ends medal drought, US pulls ahead of China in rankings

PARIS, Aug 5 — Malaysia’s contingent has finally scored a medal with men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik delivering a bronze after a hard-fought match.

As to current overall placings, the US has pulled ahead of China in rankings with both countries at 19 golds each, but the US ahead in silvers at 26 to China’s 15.

France and Australia are currently also tied at 12 gold each but Australia ranked fourth due to have 11 silver to France’s 14.
