KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 24 — Korean actress Jeon So-min will be leaving popular variety show Running Man after six years.
She is the second cast member to leave in recent years with Korean actor Lee Kwang Soo leaving the show two years ago.
According to The Korea Times, the production team thought it over before agreeing with the 37-year-old’s decision.
"We have concluded now is the time for her to take some time to refresh herself,” her agency King Kong By Starship said, adding she would take the opportunity to focus more on acting.
"We talked over ways to keep her for a long time, but decided to respect her decision,” the programme’s network, SBS reportedly said.
Jeon made her acting debut in a 2004 MBC TV series.
In 2013, she played her first leading role in Princess Aurora for which she won the channel’s Best New Actress Award the same year.
She joined the cast of Running Man in April 2017 and went on to win the Rookie Award in the 2017 SBS Entertainment Awards, the Top Excellence Award, Variety, in 2018 and the Golden Content Award in 2020 as part of the cast.
