KUALA LUMPUR, Sep 5 — Malaysian Muslim activist and former singer Mizz Nina held her Malaysian wedding reception at The Boathouse, KL last Sunday attended by family and friends.

Mizz Nina, whose real name is Shazrina Azman, wore a white dress and hijab designed by Ezzati Amira while her Moroccan-American faith-based rapper husband Essam Muhammad wore a matching traditional robe with skullcap.

The beaming couple shared a romantic story of how they first met in 2015 and Essam rapped for guests which had his father-in-law Tan Sri Azman Hashim moving to the beat in his baju Melayu and sampin.

One of the guests, Afiqah Abidin, posted a video on TikTok which showed the couple walking into the flower-filled hall where thrilled family and friends were waiting to see them.

Nina’s son Musa, whom she adopted with ex-husband rock singer Noh Salleh, and her father-in-law were also in attendance.

Nina, 43, and Essam, 30, were married in the US two months ago in June.
