KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 — South Korean girl band Blackpink is all set for a highly-anticipated release of their upcoming single in two days on August 23.

The single, aptly titled The Girls, will mark the band’s first musical offering in nearly a year and the excitement among their fan base, known as Blinks, is already evident on social media platforms.

Many fans were seen sharing the song’s 30-second snippet on various platforms in anticipation of the release date.

The song is produced for the band’s mobile game, Blackpink: The Game.

The group’s management agency YG Entertainment however has not released any official statement about the song’s release on other platforms such as Spotify or YouTube.

The band’s last collaborative musical effort was almost a year ago when they were promoting their album Born Pink, earned them their first-ever No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart.
