KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — The much awaited dates for the Hong Kong God of Songs Jacky Cheung’s concert finally been revealed — but fans are hardly happy.
A day after the organiser Unusual Entertainment Pte Ltd announced the six dates and ticketing details, fans started to bombard the company’s social media page to complain about the ticket prices and seating arrangements.
Elaine Tee on Facebook commented that half of the seats are classified as VIP with the ticket priced at RM1,188.
"And those sitting on the ‘hill top’ need to pay either RM688 and RM988 while the cheapest is from RM388 to RM688,” she said, adding that the organiser was making a quick buck, judging by seating plans.
Kiew Lin Shuang also chimed in remarking that seats that are too far from the stage should not be classified as VIP.
Fellow Facebook user Jiajun sarcastically suggested the organiser sell all tickets at RM1,188 and allow purchasers free seating instead.
Cheung’s concerts, his first here in five years, will be held at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on August 11 to 13 and August 18 to 20.
Tickets priced between RM388 and RM1,188 will go on sale on Friday, May 26, from 10am.
It was previously reported that Cheung’s stopover was part of the 61-year-old’s world tour that kicked off in Macau on June 9.
The last time Cheung performed in Malaysia was in 2018 as part of his A Classic Tour, where he staged three sold-out concerts at Axiata Arena.
