According to TMZ.com, CBS bosses called a meeting on Friday morning to inform staff of the news.

While no specifics were given, the website claims falling ratings and budget issues are to blame.

Shortly after the news broke, Latifah took to her Facebook page to write a note to herself.

Referring to her real name, Dana Owens, Latifah thanked the crew of the show for their help and support over the years.

“Dear Dana, Just a little note to say Thank You…” the note reads. “Thank you for your strong work ethic and great effort in getting ‘The Queen Latifah Show’ off the ground and running.

“Your Family, Partners, Staff and Crew showed up with you every step of the way. Be very proud of that! Not everyone can say the same.

“You can also say you have been a blessing to and been blessed by amazing guests and incredible audiences for this show.

“So… STAY POSITIVE, STAY STRONG, and most importantly, STAY OPEN… There is so much more God has in store!”

Latifah added a postscript to the bottom of the message, reminding her fans and followers on Facebook to always be positive.

“This letter is for me, my staff, my crew, and everyone who was by my side for this incredible journey. The most important thing in life is that you wake up every single day and take chances. No matter what the outcome… believe in yourself and continue to fly.”

Despite reports of falling ratings, “The Queen Latifah Show” enjoyed a successful debut when it premiered in 2013 — securing the second-best daytime talk show launch since 2009’s Dr Oz.

Speaking previously about the programme, Latifah admitted in an interview with CBS she had thoroughly enjoyed every second of hosting such a series.

“It’s definitely been a learning experience. A great journey in a short amount of time,” she said. — Cover Media
