Bursa Malaysia mixed at mid-morning, KLCI up 0.18pc

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 ― Bursa Malaysia was mixed at mid-morning today amid cautious trading ahead of the release of the United States Consumer Price Index data for October, with the key index rising by 0.18 per cent.

At 11am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 2.60 points to 1,448.79 from yesterday's close of 1,446.19.

The market bellwether opened 3.88 points weaker at 1,442.31.

On the broader market, however, decliners continued to beat gainers 373 to 242, while 340 counters were unchanged, 1,371 untraded, and 28 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.39 billion units valued at RM471.13 million.

Among the heavyweights, Maybank and CIMB gained three sen to RM8.66 and RM5.47, respectively, Public Bank and Petronas Chemicals added two sen to RM4.42 and RM8.57, respectively, and IHH Healthcare remained flat at 5.97.

As for the actives, XOX and Advance Synergy rose one sen to 2.5 sen and 12.5 sen, respectively, and Top Glove increased four sen to 88 sen, while Euro Holdings shed 1.5 sen to 12 sen and MMAG Holdings stayed at 2.5 sen.

On the index board, the FBM Emas Index grew 7.06 points to 10,266.51, the FBMT 100 Index climbed 11.15 points to 10,004.91, and the FBM ACE inched up 51.58 points to 4,983.92. However, the FBM 70 lost 13.85 points to 12,143.39 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index narrowed 2.45 points to 10,321.29.

Sector-wise, the Financial Services Index bagged 49.73 points to 16,310.57, the Industrial Products and Services Index edged up 0.26 of a point to 174.58, and the Plantation Index advanced 3.44 points to 6,853.00, while the Energy Index weakened 13.70 points to 707.93. ― Bernama
