Tokyo stocks open higher

TOKYO, Feb 18 — Tokyo stocks opened higher today as market sentiment improved after the US Dow soared to a third straight record.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.15 per cent, or 46.37 points, at 30,338.56 in early trade, while the broader Topix index gained 0.02 per cent, or 0.38 points, to 1,961.87. — AFP
