"A court order was issued yesterday (Wednesday), and the suspect will be taken from Sungai Petani Prison in Kedah for the charges tomorrow,” he was quoted as saying on Wednesday.

The charges against the unemployed man will be heard at the Kuala Kangsar Court.

On July 27 at around 5am, a 32-year-old woman narrowly escaped death after she was beaten, strangled, and pushed into a ravine following an argument with her husband.

However, the victim managed to crawl to safety up from the ravine to the roadside, where she was found by members of the public around 2pm on the same day, the report was quoted as saying.

The suspect was arrested by the Baling district police headquarters (IPD) in Kedah on July 31, following an incident involving him injuring his brother.

The suspect was subsequently re-arrested by Gerik police and was remanded for seven days from August 6 to 12 for further investigations.
