PM Anwar says will meet the group marching on Parliament in remembrance of Teoh Beng Hock

KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he would be meeting the participants of the Walk of Justice event organised by the Teoh Beng Hock Association for Democratic Advancement (TBH-ADA) today.

"I am aware of the incident that occurred outside Parliament today involving the family of the late Teoh Beng Hock.

"I assure that I will meet with them soon and review their memorandum,” wrote Anwar on X (formerly Twitter).

Former political aide to politician Ean Yong Hian Wah, Teoh Beng Hock was found dead not long after being called for questioning by the the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), leading to calls for further investigation from his family and supporters.

Beng Hock’s sister Teoh Lee Lan led the walk to Parliament, where the group intended to hand over a memorandum to the prime minister in person before being intercepted by police officers who had created a human barrier of around 100 metres.
