MMEA find body of crew member who fell into sea at Pulau Tengah waters

SHAH ALAM, Sept 1 — The body of a Filipino crew member who reportedly fell into the sea last Wednesday was found in the waters around Pulau Tengah this morning.

Selangor Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) deputy director (operations) Maritime Commander Mohd Sharenliza Ghazali said the patrol boat, Penggalang 10, found the man’s body during the Op Carilamat rescue mission at 9.26am.

He said the body was taken to the Pulau Indah Marine Police jetty, where it was identified by the Eco Galaxy marine agent before being handed over to the police for further action.

"The victim was identified as 57-year-old Filipino national, Peligres Jaime Langusta. He was assigned to lower the pilot ladder when he fell overboard on August 30,” he said in a statement today.

The search and rescue mission was suspended at 1.13pm. — Bernama
