According to the MACC, various efforts have been made including direct contact with both individuals but they have failed to appear at the MACC office till today.

Based on checks with the Immigration Department, both individuals left the country respectively on May 17 and May 21, and there are no records of re-entry.

MACC urged any information about the individuals involved to contact the investigating officer, Nur Muhammad Amin bin Jamaluddin at 603-88700799 or 016-4322 699 or email to amin.jamaluddin@sprm.gov.my.

In February, news site Free Malaysia Today reported that the anti-graft agency was investigating the award of a contract to the son-in-law of a former prime minister.

In the news report, it said that the probe centered around possibilities of power abuse in connection with the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe).

Adlan was previously named in news reports back in 2020 as being linked and likely a key player in the contract.

In February, Muhyiddin denied allegations that he was involved in the awarding of the NIISe contract to Iris Corporation Berhad, which is linked to his son-in-law.

Muhyiddin had then described reports that published the allegation as malicious slander and deliberately done to tarnish his family and his dignity.

The Pagoh MP also said that the procurement process for the contract was made according to normal procedures under the supervision of the Finance Ministry and related ministries, adding that it was not under his jurisdiction as prime minister at the time.
