"I was informed that the report linked my name and that the individual made several accusations against me.

"Hence, I lodged a counter report at the Sri Hartamas Police Station at 2.20pm today over the woman’s police report which went viral via the Telegram channel called ‘Edisi Siasat’ this morning,” he wrote in his Facebook posting.

According to the woman, the alleged incident happened at Plaza Damas at around 11am on July 24, during which she accused Ahmad Faizal of making inappropriate comments.

She then decided to lodge a police report after consulting her husband.

Meanwhile, Brickfields district police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor told Malay Mail, when contacted, that the woman’s police report was withdrawn the same day it was lodged.

He added that the police have opened an inquiry paper on the matter.

Ahmad Faizal in his statement said that he had told the authorities that the accusations are not true and believes there is an element of criminal incitement and defamation involved in the woman’s report.

"The document mentioned the time, date and location of certain ‘interactions’.

"I was in Negeri Sembilan carrying out my official duty as Bersatu deputy president on the day and time mentioned in the report. There are witnesses who can confirm this,” he added.

Ahmad Faizal also said that he will leave the matter to the police to investigate, and subsequently, dismiss the false report.

"I hope that during this election campaign period, we only talk about politics and policies that can advance the country.

"This personal attack does not provide any benefit and only waste police’s time and resources,” he said.
