KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 — PAS spiritual adviser Datuk Hashim Jasin has described caretaker Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as a God’s gift sent by Allah SWT to lead the state.
In a report by Utusan Malaysia, Hashim said that Sanusi's aura would attract people's support for Pakatan Nasional (PN) in the upcoming six-state elections, particularly in Kedah.
He said it would be challenging for other parties to overthrow Sanusi and PN.
"I see that Sanusi is a person who can work 24 hours a day. Sanusi's aura in Kedah, especially in Kedah, is very strong even though the language used is a bit harsh, but he has an argument, and the people can accept it.
"Leaders like Sanusi are not easy to find but Allah SWT gives them. The people can accept him (Sanusi) and God willing I am sure it will not be easy for other parties to topple him and PN in Kedah,” he was quoted as saying by the news portal.
Hashim shared his personal view that Sanusi is the ideal candidate to lead Kedah as menteri besar if PN manages to maintain dominance in the state after next month's state elections.
He emphasised that in Kedah, Allah SWT has chosen a menteri besar with a wealth of experience in various fields.
According to Hashim, Sanusi is a leader who prioritises the interests of people over personal gains and maintains good relations with all groups despite facing attacks from various quarters.
Hashim also acknowledged the customary practice in PAS-led states, where the position of menteri besar is held by the respective PAS commissioners.
However, he highlighted that even though the positions of menteri besar and state PAS commissioner were held by different individuals, both leaders were able to work together in harmony.
Sanusi in a statement today has apologised to the Selangor Ruler for remarks he allegedly made against the monarchy.
The PAS leader claimed that his remark was taken out of context by his political rivals.
