KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) youth chief Kelvin Yii wants all parties in the unity government to put aside their differences and work towards finding the best solutions to help the country’s economic growth.

He said it was time to foster togetherness and become a united nation undivided by political affiliation as that was the only way for the country to fix the economy.

He said this will help Malaysia to be on the right landscape for development following years of political turmoil.

"Firstly I want to say it’s odd and feels weird standing here in this hall, it is my first time here. But I am here because I have a vision and a mission I want to accomplish and they are similar to what everyone here wants, to see us transform into a strong and powerful multicultural and multiracial country.

"This vision must be based on respect towards all religions and races. That must be the basis for us to rebuild our beloved Malaysia,” he said during his speech today at the inaugural Unity Government National Convention.

"For me, all the work and the basis for all future plans must have stability or else we will not grow and no transformation will happen. We must put aside all our differences and use our diversity to strengthen our resolve and pride in our nation, not use it to separate us,” he said.

The national unity convention is being held before the state elections set to be held in six states sometime within the next two months.

Kelvin shared the stage with Barisan Nasional youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh who welcomed his presence adding that he felt there was good chemistry between them.

They were joined by Warisan’s Mohd Ismail Ayob and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah youth chief Jonnybone Kurum and Gabungan Parti Sarawak youth chief Lukanisman Awang Sauni.
