KUALA TERENGGANU, May 13 — The Unity Government National Convention to be held tomorrow gives a clear signal that stability as offered by the current government will be the basis of Malaysia’s development and the people’s well-being, said Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

He said this was because the invitation from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to all members of parliament from the unity government to participate in the convention sends out a very positive signal of the stability enjoyed by the current government.

"For me, it is the most important and clear signal from this convention,” he told reporters after attending the town hall session with Terengganu Communications and Digital Ministry staff at the RTM Auditorium here today.

Meanwhile, Fahmi said the prime minister and other political party leaders are expected to deliver their speeches after 3 pm.

The Unity Government National Convention, which is expected to gather 10,000 delegates from 19 political parties of the ruling coalition, will be held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

The convention will start at 10 am with the Unity Government National Women Convention and the Unity Government Pemuda Puteri National Convention at Dewan Merdeka and Dewan Tun Hussein Onn, respectively.

On seat distributions among unity government parties for the upcoming six state elections, Fahmi said discussions are ongoing and may be about 80 per cent completed.

"Each state has its own dynamics. The process is ongoing, and I believe there is not much left to be resolved. (However,) you have to refer to other leaders for the exact and latest numbers,” said the Pakatan Harapan communications director.

The six states where elections are due this year are Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu. — Bernama
