KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today said that the government is ready and willing to hear Opposition MPs’ plea for fair allocation.

In response to Perikatan Nasional’s Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim’s additional question on fair allocation for all MPs, Anwar said that former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin did not provide any allocation for the Opposition during his time in office.

"I never said there will be no allocation... during Pagoh’s stint (as prime minister), we did not get any allocation. The ‘Madani’ (government) has to be fair... does that mean Pagoh was not being fair, is that what Arau is trying to say?,” he cynically said as a few MPs knocked on their table in cohort voicing out their support for him.

Anwar then lauded Barisan Nasional’s (BN) Bera MP Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for willing to sit down with the Opposition during the latter’s time as the prime minister.

Opposition MPs have been lambasting the Anwar-led unity government for delaying allocation for federal constituencies.

Previously, Anwar has repeatedly said that the government will provide fair allocation for MPs if the federal reserve has enough funds.
