KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 — By accusing DAP of Islamophobia, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has shown his hand in trying to pit Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) parties against one another to prevent the "unity government” from working, Anthony Loke Siew Fook said today.
The DAP secretary-general added that his party will respond to Abdul Hadi's claims in due course, Utusan Malaysia reported this afternoon.
"That is indeed trying to challenge DAP. What we have achieved now, the unity government, they want to challenge.
"We have to be patient, we will make an explanation, if there is anything that we feel is slanderous, then we will make a police report,” Loke was quoted telling reporters in Seremban after the Negri Sembilan state assembly sitting.
Loke is both Seremban MP and Chennah assemblyman.
He was responding to Abdul Hadi’s lengthy Facebook rant yesterday in which the Marang MP claimed DAP to be pushing an Islamophobic narrative on Malaysia’s non-Muslim Bumiputera and painting PAS as an Islamist extremist party.
Abdul Hadi also used an analogy to express his disgruntlement with the Agong's decision to appoint Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the 10th prime minister, likening the situation to a football referee buying extra time for the losing side in order to secure a win.
PH and BN have agreed to form a coalition federal government led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister following the 15th general election that resulted in a hung Parliament.
Both coalitions have also similarly set aside their animosity for each other to form government in Perak and Pahang.
