KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 — PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said that Perikatan Nasional is confident that it will form the new federal government after the 15th general election (GE15).
He expressed gratitude to god for the comfortable win given to PN and PAS in GE15 based on unofficial results at a press conference held at the media centre of PAS' headquarters in Kuala Lumpur tonight.
"(We are) confident that we will form the government based on early results that we have seen so far,” the incumbent Marang MP said in response to a question by a reporter about how confident the coalition is about winning.
He thanked voters for placing their faith in PAS and PN, especially those who used much of their time and money to make the journey back to cast their votes.
He also congratulated Malaysians for carrying out their responsibility of voting for the country’s leadership.
"Your sacrifice in returning home to vote will be proportionally rewarded by Allah,” he said.
He also extended his thanks to the PAS election machinery for their hard work. The Islamist party has won 10 Parliamentary seats at the time of writing.
PN has won 11 Parliamentary seats on top of that thus far.
