KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16 — Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today that a vote for his coalition’s rivals in the 15th general elections (GE15) is a vote for political instability.

He specifically targeted ally-turned-enemy Perikatan Nasional (PN), saying any vote for the coalition would be wasted as it could instead be used to secure BN’s victory

"Remember that with every vote you give to Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, you have given to political instability,” the Umno president posted on Facebook.

He also called on Malaysians to vote with wisdom rather than ostensibly "experiment” with a decision that could harm the country.

"We wish to restore an honourable government, and this will only become reality with a unanimous agreement to vote for BN,” he said.

BN had governed Malaysia for six decades before they were defeated in 2018 by PH.

It then formed a government with PN to end PH’s 22-month administration, before turning enemies ahead of the election.

It has since been accused of being tainted with Umno leaders facing court charges including the incarcerated Datuk Seri Najib Razak, and facing questions of whether Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will continue to be its prime minister candidate.
