KUCHING, Nov 14 — Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) will support any national coalition that forms the next federal government after the 15th general election, its secretary-general Baru Bian said today.
He said the party has decided to join the new federal government for the sake of the country’s political stability and economic recovery.
"I wish to inform the voters in Lawas that PSB is an independent local party and is not tied to political coalitions like Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Barisan Nasional and Umno,” Baru said on his Facebook page.
Baru, who won in Selangau on a PKR ticket in the 2018 general election, has moved to Lawas for the 15th general election.
Apart from Baru, PSB president Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh is contesting in Sibu, deputy president Johnical Rayong in Lubok Antu, Youth chief Wilson Entabang in Sri Aman and Iana Akam in Puncak Borneo.
The others are Eisiy Tingang (Serian), Lue Cheng Hing (Stampin), Voon Lee Shan (Bandar Kuching) and Lawrence Lai (Miri) and Priscilla Lau (Lanang).
In the 2021 state election, PSB contested 73 seats and won four of them — Wong in Bawang Assan, Baru in Ba’Kelalan, Rayong in Engkilili and See Chee How in Batu Lintang.
However, See left PSB early this year to become an Independent State Assemblyman.
